Good on you!

I believe that most folks still care about their neighbor but over the past generation, people have lost touch with them.

Now that we have central heat and air, we no longer have front porches and see each other regularly and have become invisible to our neighbors.

Contributing factors are the internet, Face Time and FB posts that do not reveal the true conditions of people you've known for years. Their kids and grand-kids have moved off to Houston or Denver and day to day communication has been lost.

I soon will begin splitting time with my brother to be a live in caregiver for our mother. That's how it was when I was young and hope I can be as loving and helpful as she did with her own mother and siblings.
