I will be using it about once a month, and my only requirements are that it must be a plunge and fixed base combo and must support 1/2" and 1/4" collet.

I am between:

The Skil 1830 for the low cost option at $109

The Dewalt DWP611PK at $199

or the Bosch 1617EVSPK at $203

Anybody have any experience with these or have any other suggestions within the same price range?

Pops has a Bosch, he likes it. I have only used it a couple times but worked fine for what I needed.

In this case, go Bosch.

ETA: My dad also has one and it works great.

I have the porter cable 890 series with both fixed and plunge bases. Variable speed for larger bits and also has both collet sizes. Great router. I use it often in my shop. It averages $190 I believe.
