Y'all still GMT-ing?

***

Dear Facebook:

Today was a lovely day spent with my wonderful parental units at their home.

I brought my sweet momma (no pics) some of her favorite flowers and my old man some of his favorite gelato ice cream.

Helped Mom cook lunch. We ate and watched tennis, talked about life, and enjoyed eachother's company as we try to make time to do most Sunday afternoons. Thankful for life's blessings today.

Anyways, I hope everyone is having a great day.

Your e-friend,
North Dallas Tiger

It just depends. I’ve been through so many hurricanes since Andrew (1993) at the Royal Sonesta on Bourbon St, and I’ve rode out all the others in different places.

Katrina broke me

Nothing like Liz has

You just never know. A CAT 2 can feel like a CAT 4.

Last one I went through was Laura, no power for 3 weeks

Now I don't have to worry about hurricanes, just tornados

I get it, 08

I’ve been broken for a long time, even more now

BR didn’t get much for Ida, but me sitting in the window with the shot gun kinda ruined it for me

In the last few years, different corporations that run group homes and half way homes have bought up homes and it was chaos when the power went out. And it’s worse now. Come take my shite bc someone else is going to ruin it anyway.

I won’t be here.

I’ve got to go help run youth group. Luckily it’s just big kids tonight. We can all wallow in our Angst together.

I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to make you sad

My point is, is that Katrina broke me and I’ve just been numb ever since. Even though I’ve had friends and family go through just as bad if not worse, I have empathy and compassion and do whatever I can bc I’ve been there.

I’ll never forget the day when I was able to get to my house 11 days after the storm and had to kick the door down just just see we had a 5’ line in the house and everything was completely ruined.

Probably the worst, scariest and best day of my life
