Everyone does when they're on trial. Yes, she's innocent until proven guilty. While the prosecutors are trying to prove her guilt, her defense attorney is trying to prove her innocence by proving the prosecutors wrong or by admitting evidence proving her innocence.
That's the reality in a court trial.
