Am I required by Louisiana law to keep insurance on a car that's in my name but have no intention of driving again until I sell it? Problem is I can't afford insurance on both my new car and my old car.Any info would be appreciated!

You just have to take off the license plate and turn it in to the dmv. I'd recommend doing it in person.
