Got the diamond from my wife's engagement rin from them. Came with all the certifications any other would and it appraised for a decent amount higher than they charged. The reps were also really cool. Actually talked me into spending 500 less because the difference in imperfections between the two diamonds wasn't worth the extra 500.

I worked in the industry for a little while.

Blue Nile is a good resource and as someone else said they are GIA certified. GIA is the standard of certification. If it has a GIA certification the diamond will be at its truest specs.

Yea. I bought my wife's engagement ring from there 13 years ago. I spent $8200 on 1.25 carat ring. They send you an appraisal for insurance purposes and if I recall it was around $13,500. But yeah, you can save about 10-15% buying the same quality ring from them that you would in a brick and mortar jewelry store.
