What about Civil War soldiers? Put on a heavy wool outfit. Sweat your arse off and have no toilet paper. Imagine the arse itch and stinch. Imagine dysentery. Imagine smallpox. Imagine malaria. Imagine yellow fever. Imagine being shot with a bullet and having Doc saw your leg off.
