The good Dr. Carson's quote is STUPID on several points. We were not the first nation to acknowledge his version of God. Far from it. Until the Enlightenment Christian religion was foundational to almost every government of Western Europe plus Russia, and people were burned at the stake for disavowing the notion. The truth is almost entirely opposite of what Carson avers.. this was NOT founded as a Christian nation but upon democratic principles which included a critical one that condemned the status quo and officially made religion a personal matter.
No doubt many rocket scientists have had faith. No doubt that many have had no belief in any god(s). But neither of those facts have much to do with the typically stupid thing that came from Carson's mouth.

Many of them happened to be religious.
Certainly one way to interpret it.

But their religiousness was obviously not what led to the scientific breakthroughs.
Meh. You say this so matter of factly. Clearly Giordano Bruno, for example, was driven in his quest to find the handiwork of G-d (wherever that led him) - fair enough to point out that the the religious dogma of the powers that be of the time ultimately conflicted with his own faith and that resulted in his imprisonment, trial and execution.
But this is just one example in which a scientist and his faith were so intertwined as to defy separation, IMHO.

Yeah, and Thomas Edison was a professed atheist, Richard Feynman was an atheist, Frank Oppenheimer was an atheist, Nikola Tesla a probable one, Hans Bethe a confirmed atheist, Samuel Cohen, Philip Anderson, Paul MacReady, Ruby Payne-Scott, Wallace Sargent, Claude Shannon, William Sidis, Victor Stenger, Kip Thorne, Joseph Weber, etc., etc. were or are atheists, and each and more made critical contributions to the USA's ability to land a man on the moon.

They didn't build it, they flew it.
Read up on the Mercury, Gemini, and Apollo programs. The astronauts had HEAVY input in the design and layout of the spacecraft. Many of the astronauts would travel to where the spacecrafts were being built and provide input to the engineers and factory floor workers. Most of their suggestions were followed.

You can't possibly believe that the industrial revolution, Manhattan Project, and space race were driven by a "quest to find the handiwork of God". They were made possible by the scientific method, and driven by various interests including economic gain, competition with other nations, and genuine curiosity.
And as mentioned previously, many of the scientists involved in those breakthroughs were non-religious

figure out where the battery is, remove it
then replace it
should stabilize the issues
thats for a regular android...I don't have an iphone
if, you cannot pull out the battery, then shut it off for several minutes, then restart
good luck

Ok so is this a dig at Ben Carson? I just realized that your thread about the pyramids was making fun of him.
