Where's that tigerbait fool to tell everyone how the Saints have plenty of room to sign more people?
We signed Spiller and took on a big cap hit in the Stills trade (restructured) since that thread. Derp derp
Saints still have some flexibility to sign more people, even with the moves we've made since that thread, with a back loaded contract.
I can't help it if you can't comprehend what I've said.
Bonethug and I have actually discussed this topic and researched it, unlike you
We still have the Evans contract, Bush, and what was included in the OP to get under the cap.
I could also see a restructure of Unger coming to the table if needed.
I don't think the Saints are done yet

We did have all kinds of room. We cleared over $20+m to get under and made room for Ingram ($2m), Spiller(assumed to be between $2-3m), Browner($2.4m), Unger($4.5m), and Ellerbe(still waiting on numbers but likely at least $2-3m) plus resigned a few other guys.
That's anywhere between $13-15m at least plus the money money the other guys which brings the total to around $20m.
So we cleared over $40m in space and only lost 5 guys. That's insane. People are severely underestimating the job we did here. Plus we gained two very good draft picks(plus another) while only losing one mid rounder.
Spot on. Thanks bonethug

Are we still in play for Williams? I know we had offered him a contract and left, but he was supposedly still deciding?
We've added 3 players since then though

Another CB?
That seems like a luxury.
I'm sure PRob would be cheaper.

No doubt, I just haven't heard an update on it

No problemo.
I think we may be out on Williams, sadly. He's taking a visit with the Redskins and I think he may have been insurance in case talks with Lewis went south.
Technically if we give him about the same deal as Browner cutting or trading Bush would give us the room needed to get him, but at this point we need to clear room for the other stuff(draft and regular season roster). I think it's vet minimum guys from here on out unless we make an unexpected move like adjusting Brees or Jordan.
Though I hadn't thought hadn't thoguht about redoing Unger before. That would save about $2-3m.

I know I know. It's about where I figured, we'd be a little over at this point and still have to make additional room for draft, etc.
