How can you keep a single digit number when you play running back?

Kordell was #10. He wasn't the quarterback until 1997 and receivers didn't wear that number back then.

He is listed as a QB on the official roster. Either the 2nd or 3rd string!

My question...in the NFL you can't wear a single digit number playing running back or wide receiver?

He's a QB on our roster, he gets a QB number. That's all that matters.

You’re right. He should have to change his jersey on the sideline based on how he is going to line up. WHAT ARE WE DOING!?

no... NFL uniform guidelines dictate what number range a position can use... it's to help refs keep track of who's an eligible receiver and who isn't

QB/K/P can use single digit or 10s

RBs can use # in the 20s... think Reggie Bush (wanted #5 but couldn't due to the guidelines... so used 25)

just recently they started allowed WRs to have #s in the 10s... they used to be limited to 80s
