Coincidences?? Almost too weird to be believed, yet here we are!!
2009:
- Losses to Dallas, Tampa Bay, Carolina
- 13-3 record, 1st overall seed in NFC
- First playoff opponent has a bird mascot (Arizona)
- Championship game opponent has a mascot with horns (Viking helmet)
- Potential Super Bowl opponent was either a starter in their first Playoff (Sanchez) vs a playoff veteran (Manning)
- Super Bowl broadcasted on CBS
2018:
- Losses to Dallas, Tampa Bay, Carolina
- 13-3 record, 1st overall seed in NFC
- First playoff opponent has a bird mascot (Philadelphia)
- Championship game opponent has a mascot with horns (Rams helmet)
- Potential Super Bowl opponent was either a starter in their first Playoff (Mahomes) vs a playoff veteran (Brady)
- Super Bowl broadcasted on CBS
Does history repeat itself? We can only hope!! WHO DAT!!

Disastrous first play of the game in the Divisional Round both times

I think that the most significant of these similarities are the bird mascot in round one. It's always important to have a dominating game in your first win and there is not more subservieant character in the realm of NFL mascots than birds. They are easily shot and killed in other ways too. I am glad to have won verse the eagle and cardinal people. Let's go beat the horny helmot people and then the vet qb and we can send bree's into his heavenly home in audubon park!
