Vox Amplug 2 Speaker Cabinet and/or Amplug2 - questions??

Hi,
Am curious if you have experience with the Vox Amplug 2 Speaker Cabinet and/or Amplug2?

What I'm looking for is a cheap solution that I can play both guitar and bass through on my couch (without having to move the other amps).

I don't really care what it sounds like or power, I'd like it to sound decent but my real need is to be able to play both bass and guitar through it and its a cheap option.

It appears to me I can play both directly through the cabinet, but am curious if there is a need or advantage to having the Amplug for the "stack"(Looking at the Bass, plus maybe the Blues for Guitar).

Does the Amplug:
A) A necessity to make the cabinet function?
B) Improve the Cabinet sound?
C) An unnecessary waste of money if I have no intention to play only through headphones?
