Evidently this is a thing. Here's a video of him doing "Alright."

Now I'm not usually one to get on the weird racial thing... but all these white hipsters completely geeeking out and chanting along with this song just strikes me as... weird (even though I'd gladly be one of those white hipsters).

Studio version (as with most rap) is superior. The thing is: it came out around the time of all the upheaval in Ferguson and such with BLM, so it became sort of a rallying cry at a lot of BLM meetings.

So then you have all these white hipsters in Austin bopping along to it.. it's just kind of incongruous.

Here's the actual video for the song, which is pretty freaking cool.

Why do you think they are all "hipsters"?

1) Austin
2) did you see them?

I'm not saying it in the pejorative sense. I wear raw denim, cuff my jeans and wear Redwing iron Rangers daily. I read Stereogum and shite like that. A lot of people would probably say I'm a hipster, so I'm not trying to do the whole hipster bashing thing. Just saying:
Austin
white
Kendrick lama
ACL taping
= hipster

So just because some idiots co-opted the song white people cant enjoy it? There's nothing political about the lyrics. It's all about resisting temptation and knowing you're gonna make it through tough shite cause God's got your back. This isn't Public Enemy It Takes A Nation of Millions. You appear to have some serious racial hang ups man.

TPAB is one of my top albums of the year. I love it. The song definitely has political overtones.
And we hate Popo, wanna kill us dead in the street for sure, ****

I suggest you read the lyrics again. It's pretty explicitly political in content and specifically about African American struggle. That doesn't mean the refrain can't be sung along to, but pretending like there are no politics or racial overtones in the song is silly. Hell, the repeated word in the song is ****.
