I remember this hitting HUGE in 1984 but he just didn't seem to have staying power, at least in the US.

Had a couple of good tunes and then gone. Sounding like John probably a hindrance to his career.

Sean sounds a lot like John and he’s been pretty successful.
ETA: His voice sounds like John's voice to be clear. His music can be very different. I do agree however that Sean, and probably Julian also, tried to avoid making music too much like John's for obvious reasons. I can see that as a hindrance.
