Buying a used open reel machine.

I lust after a nice semi pro or pro open reel machine.
A new full pro Ballfinger machine that’s all DD, has edit mode and spooling mode.
$35k is a massive chunk.
How about a refurbished Studer a810 or maybe a 50 series TASCAM ?
I love the Technics machines but parts are gone and they’re Technics which transport unreliable.
Those rebuilt Mara/MCI decks are cheaper.
Thoughts?
