The problem is that folks confuse recognizable celebrity voices with iconic voice actors and they're simply not the same.
Rob Paulsen
Maurice LaMarche
Bob Bergen
Jess Harnell
Tress Macneille
Grey DeLisle Griffin
Tara Strong
EG Daily
Jim Cummings
All voice iconic character voices you all know instantly, but you likely would stand next to them in a grocery store and never think twice about it. (Well, you'd notice Tara Strong or Grey DeLisle because they're fine as hell).
Obviously things like documentary narration are a completely different animal. David Attenborough and Peter Coyote or the first two people who come to mind as iconic narrators.

Liev Schreiber has started doing more narrative work.
Alan Tudyk is one that maybe fits that iconic voice.

Tudyk is an outstanding contemporary example. Dude totally blends into his character. He's vocal tofu.
