True Story Review - possible spoilers obviously, but not intended.

You know, it's not a lack of acting, all did a good job. Although the interplay between Franco and Hill was pretty well done, personally, it was hard to get past their real like camaraderie to see some fakeness to it. In all, this is another of a long list of movies lately that are thick on character development, directing quality and acting but so short on storyline and plot, mostly toward the latter part of the story, that you end up wondering "what was the point of all that?"
Could just be me. I like to end a movie thinking it went somewhere and did something aside from just a well-acted story about thus and such, and this one was just that.
So if you're good with a story without the coup de grace, this is a good one. Otherwise...meh. To me it's like masturbation without getting off.
