A whole bunch of actors have come out of Northwestern, including McClean Stevenson and Julia-Louis Drefus. (Henry Blake's trademark sweater on MASH was supposed to have a Northwestern N, but the purple didn't show up well on TV, so they made him an Illinois alum.)

Getting accepted to an elite school isn't definitive proof of intellectual chops, but most of the time it's a pretty good indication.
