The Dark Knight Rises Blu Ray Question

Why does the screen keep switching from wide-screen to full-screen? It's real annoying. The picture looks great when it has no black bars. I don't know why they don't just keep it like that during the duration.

The parts that are full screen are the ones that were shot in IMAX. It is kind of annoying but I can block it out. I wish the entire movie was shot in IMAX though.

IMAX. It was one of the first things I noticed when I watched the Blu Ray.

Yeah its the imax format switching in and out. The dark knight does it to. I know on the BB bluray theres a feature where you can turn it on and off. Not surd about the last two.

As others have already said, the parts in full screen were filmed in IMAX. It really makes for an incredible picture (both in theaters and at home). Really high quality picture.
