I dont know if any of you are Warhammer 40k fans but I got into it a few months ago. The whole universe is just incredibly vast, detailed, and outrageously brutal. I dont play any of the video games or the tabletop but I like reading the lore and have picked up a few of the books.

Regardless, a youtuber by the name of Astartes (a name for the super-human space marines in the books) put together a short series of videos over the past couple years and his 5th part dropped yesterday. Its been out maybe 20 hrs and now has around 1.5 million views. Its incredibley well done and action packed.

Just wanted to put it up here and let yall check it out if you havn't seen it before.

Astartes Channel with all his videos.

Here is a link to all 5 episodes put together into one 13 min video.

I'm a little late to the party but I just watched all 5 episodes, and it's incredible. For someone who likes 40k and is reasonably up on the lore, this thing is packed with details. The fact that it was all made by a single guy is absurd. Netflix should find him and then listen to Teddy KGB's advice:

Probably would suck the guy's passion for it away.

I also liked he didn't go with Chaos as the orb things. But what the frick were they?

ETA: Also that cape moment, hopefully teachers pick this up for how to add weight in CGI. It's desperately needed.

Eh I dunno, so long as he still had creative control I bet it would work out. The more difficult part would be getting GW on board.

As for the orbs, they're obviously some sort of warp entity. Here's a youtube vid of someone offering an explanation based on some obscure lore. Who knows...all I know is I am very intrigued.

This is so cool! What are some of the books? I'm getting into Sci-Fi a lot more these days, and that seems like something interesting to pick up!

The Black Library

Start with the Horus Heresy.

This universe is massive. It's also based on a super nerdy table top strategy game - kind of a cross between Dungeons and Dragons and Risk...lot's of fun, but also an extremely effective vaccination against getting laid

Luckily I'm married, so that took care of itself

Thanks for the link!

Heres a list of them. Im not sure if its comprehensive though. There are hundreds.

Link

Also check out the Black Library which is kind of the main source for the books.

Important note: this is "maybe" the largest fantasy/sci-fi universe in terms of lore volume and number of novels and short stories ever. So you're going to need help getting into it so you're not overwhelmed at first.

So I'd say start Here with this guys 40K lore playlist, Leutin09. He's a great youtuber and does a great job of exploring/explaining the lore. Start with the Primer at the beginning and just watch through them at your leisure.
