I took it as he hooked up with the ad lady, they went and had a late drunken dinner/breakfast at a diner and then he fricked the waitress at the diner after the ad lady went home.
yours makes sense too I suppose but I took it as the logical explanation for his "lost day" that he banged the ad lady and then the waitress over the course of 24-36 hours.
I loved Betty's reaction when Don didn't know what day it was. Priceless.
You guys always know I love Peter Campbell's exclamatory lines like "Christ on a Cracker!" or "Hells Bells!" Last night was "Judas Priest!"
