For the unaware, Spree follows Kurt (Joe Keery) as he attempts to go viral by killing people on livestream as he drives around for Spree (an UBER stand-in).
I just watched it and it is a pretty gonzo horror comedy that is trying to make a point about social media’s impact and the kind of people who are desperate to gain a viewing. Keery is pretty good in it. It’s definitely an exaggerated take. I personally wish it had taken a more tense approach like Nightcrawler, but it was fairly enjoyable.
It’s a $7 skip-the-theater rental available on most VOD platforms.

Watched the trailer last night. Looks interesting. Probably better than that shite movie that came out about the trashy bf and gf that try to become Bonnie and clyde. Both touch on social media influencing young adults
