Can a horror be the best movie of the year?

I've watched it 3 times. It reminds me of "M" - it creates tension and creepiness even better than "The Sixth Sense" which was nominated for Best Picture and probably should have won it in 1999 over American Beauty.

It's my favorite movie of the year, best experience and even best on re-watch. It was the best movie experience I've had this past year.

It uses old-school movie-making techniques to create tension. Some say it's a glorified student film but it can carry the flag with The Thing and that tension and uneasiness any-day.

It was just the most exhilarating and tension-filled movie experience this year...and that's what it should be about.

It's a unique and well-done film, but come on, man.
