The problem is no one is talking about this show right now. None. So unless AMC really ramps up pushing it and really pushes promoting the performances in the second half the whole "well he gets another shot" is a moot point if another show like True Detective has someone turn out a groundbreaking performanc

Well sure, but the fact remains that he had ZERO shot last season. No one was beating Cranston (as was made clear when McConaughey - coming off an Oscar win - lost to him too). The fact that he didn't win in Season Four with the Briefcase as his episode and with Cranston sitting out the season indicates to me that he will just never win.

I think the Emmys just grossly under-appreciate the performances of the actors on Mad Men. The fact that Elisabeth Moss has yet to win one would be another indication.

Sure, the buzz is low this year; but they've set themselves up to be all anyone is talking about if Weiner knocks it out the park. They wouldn't have gotten that if they finished up at the same time as Breaking Bad. I don't like how the split has destroyed the flow of a typical season, but I think it definitely benefitted them for potential awards.

While I was sad to see the season stop midway, I am elated that we still have new episodes to look forward to.

The glass is half-full.
