quote:One of the best scenes of any military movie. As if Kilgore was unhappy at the thought of the war ending I guess.
Kilgore: victory. Someday this war's gonna end...
Robert Duvall was one crazy dude.

quote:It really did a great work portraying the frustrations of war in general and especially the Vietnam War.
My favorite part isn't the napalm scene or when he gets to Kurtz' camp. It's near the beginning in the trailer with Harrison Ford and the "brass". So much going on in that scene that you never think of as "Vietnam".
Kurtz' story about the little arms was incredibly compelling. In that aspect I think of Tears of the Sun, trying to deal with an enemy that has no boundaries whatsoever.

quote:I've found that no movie can live up to too much hype because it's almost like you expect the movie to do all the work itself, whereas you have to still put effort into understanding what is going on.
Just finished watching this last night, gotta say I don't think it lived up to the hype it has earned through the years although it is a definite must watch just based on its history.
Does that make any sense?
