Why does USC have 28 commits for the '26 cycle already?

I just took a peek at the class rankings for the first time and laughed out loud when I saw that number. What is going on out west?

Similar to how Texas under Mack Brown used to operate. Their class would be completely full around this time and some of those kids stopped developing which led to Brown’s demise. You miss out on so many players that explode going into their senior year. It’s a stupid and somewhat lazy way to recruit.

they will just process who they don't want. Not sure it is stupid.

That’s fine, but if you start processing mass quantities of kids every year, you’ll piss off a lot of people and won’t be welcome back to those schools.

More players will leave for better opportunities than be processed by USC

They have to build momentum if they have any hope of holding onto some of it.

They committed for the school's hookers and coke, they'll decommit for another school's hookers and coke.

I would say they are making promises that they can’t keep unless the NCAA vs House settlement gets approved & rev share goes into effect.

Also - these kids are paying taxes on this $ right? I can’t see why anyone would choose CA simply for “more” money (Jahkeem Stewart), but they are just kids.

That's been the theory for years now. It never seems to work out that way aside from rare cases. Too much turnover between the college staffs and high school staffs. No one around to remember the hurt feelings and $ can get you anywhere the people are accepting it.

Every year LR does this and every year he starts losing them. The exit train is early this year its usually Aug when they start rolling out.
