Most people would agree, Pujols was the best player of his generation. His first 10 years were pretty much unmatched by anyone except the likes of Ruth and Bonds. Unfortunately his second half career took a tremendous fall.

With that being said, I think people forget how good Manny was. Without any other context or any other stats, people would look at those averages given above and think he was the better offensive player.
