Because we all know Randy being 46 years old is a big advantage over Nog being 33..............
Randy got submitted easier early in his career. Now he is VERY difficult to submit. Nog wins almost all his fights by submission. Therefore Randy is a more difficult matchup for Nog now than earlier in their careers. Also, Nog has more mileage and has taken a much greater beating over his career than Nog. Randy = 16-9 vs 31-5.

I know. Common mistake. The "python" isn't such a great fighter, but he subbed Randy which was not so difficult earlier in his career.

Valentijn Overeem beat Randy in 200fricking1. he also got submitted by Gary Goodgridge and KOed by studs like Dave Dalgliesh, Ross Pointon, Autimio Antonia, and Milco Voorn.

Personally, I do think Randy got a lot better after say 2004 with the influx of talent that came into MMA. His style just allows him to get older without really losing much. Also, as big a fan as I am of his, I would bet the house he has been on HGH for a while now. It is definitely keeping him young.
I actually like Randy (who doesn't). He is a great spokesperson for the sport and a legend. That said, I do believe he is "overrated / overhyped" in general. And as for the HGH, good for him. I am all for that helping him stay competive at 46. MMA is better with him competing at a high level.

Which FURTHERS my point that this is probably the ONLY time in either's career that RC has a better than not chance of winning (though I think it is very close). I actually think RC wins by a decision as Nog regains his iron chin, but is unable to lay a sub on RC tonight.

This is not gonna be the most exciting main event. I have been watching both for so long though that I am looking forward to it.
