You have to have a good farm system when you spend your big bucks on Miguel Tejada.

No Lee is a good player. I was saying that if you make Tejada your highest paid player, then you better have a good farm system.

And BTW if you want to talk about developing prospects...
3/5 (Wang, Joba, and Andy) of the Yankees rotation were developed in the Yankee ststem
4/8 (Posada, Jeter, Cano, and Cabrera) of the Yankee fielders were developed in the Yankee system
2/5 (Oswalt and Wandy) of the Astro starters were developed by the Astro system
2/8 (Berkman and Pence) of the Astro fielders were developed in the Astro organization

Speaking of running a team into the ground....Should I trade Berkman for Peavy in my keeper league?

Depends on your backup 1B, the rest of your pitching, and categories the league uses.
But Peavy>Berkman and in a keeper Peavy>>>Berkman

I realise our farm system is shite but as a "Yankees Fan" do you really want to tell me about how developing a farm system is the way to win? Seeing as how that is yall's moto and everything right?
Coming from a fan of a team that has had what one prospect in ten years?

Wooooohooooo baseball season!
I think the Astros will be lucky to finish 3rd.
Fourth is more likely.
Hopefully if the season is going as expected, they can move Valverde and Tejada at the deadline and get a few prospects. I don't know what kind of market Tejada will have, but Valverde should be worth a good bit as trade bait.

The sad part is that their farm system is still extremely shitty. They have almost no decent prospects in their farm system.

Won't you need them for the playoffs that Msu already has you in?

I love how most Cubs fans have this smug arrogance now because they have won the division the last two years when in reality they are the biggest punchline in all of sports.

We were at MMP for a Stros/Cubs game a few years back standing by the pump and saw a fight break out right next to us. Went down like this:
7th inning stretch everyone singing take me out to the ball game, when the song go to the part of "root root root for the home team, durring home team a drunk Cubs fan (who btw had a cut off shirt with a cubs tatoo on one arm and a Michael Jordan logo tatoo on the other) scream CUBBIES in this guys ear standing in front of him. Guy in front throws his beer in the Cubs fans face and they went at it. One of the most memorable moments I have from MMP and FWIW the Cubs fan got the shite kicked out of him.
