Heard this: The Phils are interested in trading for Tris Speaker
Posted on 8/23/11 at 10:10 pm to lsu31always
We'll settle for Thome or Damon this late.
Heard Amaro has a crackerjack staff negotiating with Ted Williams son for the head..gonna have that puppy sewn back on and ready for 2012.
Trading for CC and Weaver this summer too!

Phils gotta prepare for the arrival of Teheran in the NL East.
All kidding aside, will be relieved if/when Hamels inks a Weaver-esque renewal to stay in Philly..my guess a 90 to 100M deal.

Time to start giving the bullpen guys some nights off IMO

Yep. Martinez/Viz/Linebrink

Fredis bullpen management has been excellent lately IMO
Use tonight as an example. He could've easily gone Viz, Eric, Venters, and Kimbrel in the 6th-9th
Instead, you bring in Martinez. George, Viz to throw back to back days for only the first time, and Kimbrel who had an off night last night
Viz has been huge so far in giving some guys some rest, and Moylan will be back soon. With a huge WC lead, guys will be able to get even more rest. This isn't a concern to me like it was earlier in the season.

We may be at the point where it is time to just ride them out.

He has been doing better. He at least trusts some guys besides O'Ventbrel now. Martinez has earned it with his play since being called back up, and Viz is well on his way to earning it.

I'm not worried about them being tired.
eta: The ones getting heavy work are like 22 years old... I doubt they are worn out.
