I agree with your post until the private school shot.
It wasn't a shot it was the truth. I'm not saying ALL private schools though. You mentioned Vandebilt and a private school like that is made up of kids from Terrebonne/Lafourche which is basically all one community with it's students all about 10-20 minutes away at the most.
MANY private schools especially in the New Orleans/BR area have kids that come from all over. I'm by no means hating on John Curtis, but use them as an example. They have kids on their team from 7-8 parishes. THOSE KIDS PLAY FOR THEMSELVES AND EACH OTHER, they aren't playing for their community and their home town like public kids, cause well there home town is more than an hour away in some cases. So when kids like that that drive an hour to go to a private school finish, you think they'll support the school as passionately as public school kids do? Prolly not because it's not their hometown, not their community, likely won't have to many kids they grew up with playing for them in the future.

High school is great and serves its purpose, but there is a great big interesting world out there.
The community you went to high school in is no more interesting than the communities you will live in and work in the rest of your life.

Didn't say there wasn't a great big interesting world out there, but their ain't nothing "creepy" about supporting kids from YOUR HIGH SCHOOL, where most of the players you ACTUALLY KNOW. It's no more creepy that the millions of LSU fans that support LSU yet never stepped foot in Tiger Stadium, LSU classroom, or even stepped foot on campus.
Again not saying all private schools, but your telling me a kid that is a first generation Curtis student who drives an hour to Curtis is playing for more than a kid that's playing for his hometown? Where he grew up his whole life, where his mama, dad, brothers, sisters and everyone he knows went? Not saying they don't love their school, just saying it's different in most cases when you compare.

I think you could make a more compelling country boy/city boy argument for school pride than public/private. This was years ago, but I and most of my high school teammates were born and raised and had roots in Baton Rouge, but never once did we play 'for Baton Rouge', principally because half of the teams we played also were in Baton Rouge.

Parkview's punter is an Austrailian kid who can boom the ball. I heard he has basically finished school in Aust. Are they that far behind us in education?

I wouldnt call 8 turnovers kicking anything. Also kicking A** wouldnt really be the truth when DHS was outgained.
Yes, PBS lost. But it wasnt any kind of kicking.
