Hmm the Hornets arena was pretty empty this season when they were losing every other game. Guess we should move them too...

Not like it hasn't happened before...sure I can understand the feelings about Bennett out there but this team and OKC have just really pulled together.

Do you remember what the first season was like? And OKC was still totally behind them, no quitting at all.

Could happen. Don't think it's not on the table, NOLA is lucky the economy is so f'd and the NBA is kinda saturated. Give it a couple years and if the attendance and profit margins aren't there you better believe there'll be scuttlebutt to move the Hornets again, likely to Sea-Tac. Cincy might be a possibility if they can get P&G to lead corporate support. There's just not many cities that would be a good fit that doesn't already have a team or one close by.

You do realize that the Hornets have already been sold? Do you realize who they were sold too?

do you think he will try to move them to texas like he did with the saints? i think the hornets will have a ton of support now that davis is coming, so that might be foolish. in saying that, can/will nola support two pro teams?

I dont see him investing in buying the team, investing in the rebranding, and the revamped advertising and then turning around and moving them. Too much expense in all that

Also there would a huge PR hit that would also go across to the Saints brand, (its the same city and theirs a connection with the owner) which is his money maker. I dont think he wants to play with that

It just wouldnt be smart business. He got lucky with his flirtation with SA because the Saits won a SB, he wouldnt get so lucky with the Hornets

Didn't know that was a done deal. I'd read that Benson was bidding. He'll have to sell the Saints or the Hornets by 2014. NFL is forcing Stan Kroenke to divest of the Avalanche and Nuggets.

Its not anymore

quote:

The league’s cross-ownership rules once prohibited owners from owning teams in other major sports leagues. When Wayne Huizenga bought the Dolphins, at a time when he owned baseball’s Marlins and the NHL’s Florida Panthers, the NFL adjusted the rule to allow NFL owners to own other teams that play in the same market.
