The Georgia Dome is not in too bad of an area

I wouldn't say it's the hood but the bums are plentiful.

Of course, only like a couple miles away is a little rough once you get away from the big buildings
A couple miles? It's ghetto like two blocks away from the Dome. No, not as bad as Turner Field, but it's still not exactly in a nice part of town.

You mean, total lack of fan support no matter how good the team is? It isn't just Louisiana who noticed it.

This would be interesting. I'd like to go to some MLS games with a good soccer atmosphere. Problem is, I don't think that will happen in Atlanta.

Blank wants a franchise and has been pining for one for a long time. This stadium was key to getting the process off the ground.

MLS commish wants a franchise in the South, and both tries have failed in Florida. Atlanta should have enough of an international presence to keep a team alive.

To clarify, I think with a new stadium a team is very likely to come here.

I just don't expect it to stay long or games to be near capacity.

Maybe with the heavy Hispanic population though? They always go nuts when the Dome hosts those international games.

That's what keeps DCU afloat...maybe they can also tap into the youth soccer popularity in the suburbs.
