Oh yeah i agree with that, i was just kind of thrown off by the "political" part.

It's the "disney-fication" that drive me crazy. I've said for years they need some competition.

I wish I could be with you. It's too easy for me just to turn it to ESPNNews and get quick updates and I enjoy listening to SVP on ESPN Radio everyday.

I'm with you. Been on this train for several months. Only reason I watch ESPN now is a live game I'm interested in or a 30 for 30 special that looks good. (the one on Charismatic was great).
otherwise my sports media intake looks like this:
radio = Sirius XM stations.. Mad Dog Radio (Dino Costa and Russo - the morning show and Murray's show are bad), MLB Network Radio, College Sports Nation (excluding Finebaum)
football coverage = whatever local newspaper covers the particular team I want to read up on
baseball coverage = MLB Network TV, MLB.com, mlbtraderumors, SI, SFgate
horse racing = bloodhorse, drf

By now, I know what to expect and at this point I don't even make a huge deal out of it.

You forgot they refuse to cover any sports in which they don't have TV contracts with. Could you imagine if espn snubbed the NFL?

Radio -------> Dan Patrick and SVP IMO

the Dan Patrick Show? seriously? that program is terrible. SVP is alright sometimes but he never really comes up with unique or interesting perspectives. you should give Dino Costa a listen if you have satellite. it's a very different kind of sports program.
