FWIW, a vast majority of our fans don't say "UL" because we're crazy desperate to be some flagship or whatever other bullshite people say. We say it because "ULL" doesn't phonetically flow and it's just easier to say "UL". Unlike ULM, which rolls right off the tongue, ULL is weird to say.

When I'm in Louisiana I refer to it as UL and you know damn well exactly what I would be talking about if you're from here.

If I'm out of state I say UL Lafayette.

Louisville refers to themselves as Louisville by the way, so that recycle joke is really stupid.

Lol UL lol what's that? Lol never heard of it hahaha lol. I'll post in a thread about it though lol lol.

I was a proponent of the Cajuns until I moved to Lafayette and saw the disdain ull fans have for LSU.

they opened my eyes to a feud I didn't know existed.

Same exact here. The only time people in BR even talk about ULL is if they are playing them that week.

1. A vocal minority does not a fanbase make.

2. Since when is having disdain for another school a criteria for lost respect. I'm confused. Plenty of LSU fans hate UL. Does that mean you aren't a proponent of LSU either?

This thread and the in-game thread says otherwise.

Most UL students grew up in/around Lafayette and don't want to leave family and friends. But again, keep telling yourself that.

This is called tiger droppings. Which means the majority of the people are probably lsu fans If you think no lsu fans are ever going to go into a UL thread you're delusional. I bet half of them do it just to troll y'all.

until I moved to Lafayette, I always felt like LSU fans were indifferent to ull. LSU doesn't feel threatened by ull success because they are not competing for the same slice of pie.

I feel like that is why ull hates LSU.... because they feel slighted.... like they are disrespected.

I mean.... it's the fricking Sunbelt.

The first time I learned of the resentment (toward LSU in particular and BR in general) in Laffy I was in jr hi 30 yrs ago. It far exceeds the alleged BR resentment toward NO (which doesn't really exist anymore).

Many if not most people think Laffy is a much nicer place to live than BR, you'd think they'd be satisfied with that

I've always tried to root for LA schools (even Tulane ) but the "University of Louisiana" douchiness makes it tough

This thread and every other UL thread in the history of the more sports board proves otherwise.

Why are they posting in threads of a team that they "care so little" about?

.

i am a graduate of USL. I personally was a also a fan of LSU athletics for many years. It wasn't until the 'fans' became cocky and arrogant that i lost interest in their athletic achievments. You see, its not the school i don't like. Its the typical LSU 'fan'. You know, the one that never set foot on the campus (your Troy Landry type), the rolled up, long sleeved shirt with khaki shorts, sperry topsiders, imitation RayBans on a chord with an LSU cap on. I have come to LOVE it win LSU loses at any sport, just to see the looks on their faces that 'their' beloved LSU has lost. While the term 'penis envy' has been floated around for years, i really think its become more of the 'testicular castration anxiety' from the LSU faithfull. That along with having the stigma 'state' AND A&M on the plaque. In closing, we talk about LSU all the time! and hope they lose! NOT because of being 45 miles down the road, but because its fans!!!!!

PS...I've gotten banned in the past for stating this. Lets see if THIS time if the admins have the kahunas to finally be able to accept a reality...

Not intended as an insult, but: if it were not for this board and the U of L crap, how many people in BR would even think about ULL?
