If you paying that much for travel ball and your coach at 13U level doesn't know, fire him and get a new coach.
You would be surprised how many coaches at this level AND up do not know basic rules of the game.

I laugh at the people trying to shite all over coaches thinking they are experts. I only said the coach argued for a balk because he didn't make the throw to 1st. It wasn't until after the protest and both umps conferred that they "ruled" he stepped off first. Once they made the ruling, our coach ended it. He was disappointed but nothing else was said about it.
I originally said that it was MY understanding of the rule. Obviously I was incorrect. Feather in my cap now.
And I pay this much for my kids to play because its the one thing he really loves to do. I'm teaching him that it takes work to get what you want and we agree with our coach's philosophy. This isn't a Canes team or another that just chases rings to sell to other parents. Our goal is to train him to get good enough to make his high school team. Then, God willing, get enough notice to play somewhere else while he gets an education. I have no delusions that he's pro material but hard work and dedication will benefit him no matter what he does.
