Kobe's Championship

If the Lakers win the NBA Championship will he be regarded as The Guy that got them there? Will it make him a true legend and really put him in the discussion for one of the all time greats? I would say Shaq gets mostly all the credit for the first three he has even though Kobe was spectacular during them.
I am just asking the question because he seems to have such good players around him up front. This team just seems really loaded.
In the front court alone he has Bynum, Gasol, and Odom. There is no reason they shouldn't dominate with that front court the way they are playing.

Clearly. Though I hope Phil Jackson gets a little credit too. I think he might be the most underrated coach in professional sports history.

He already is, but it will greatly add to his legacy.

way to contradict yourself in the course of one sentence.
Those aren't 'shaq's championships', they're the Lakers. This is such a stupid discussion and I'm sick of hearing it discussed.
Kobe has three mf-ing NBA titles and is still playing.
If he played fantastic in them, then I'd say he deserves some credit.

I think the fact that Kobe was pretty young during that run and Shaq was in his prime has alot to do with it.

i get upset too when people say it was shaqs team. dont get me wrong shaq was awesome but so was kobe. they needed each other to win those three. they both deserve the credit.

Thats like saying Jordan isnt great because of Pippen or Magic wouldnt have done anything if he didnt have Kareem and Worthy.
It's not like saying that at all. It's more like saying Pippen isn't great because he wouldn't have done anything without Jordan. Kobe was great, but Shaq was more integral to those championships than he was. It doesn't mean that he was just riding Shaq's coattails, though.

Another thing that is said about those titles is that Shaq then went to Miami and won a title with a young kid, exactly like he had done with Kobe in LA.
Not taking anything away from Kobe, but Shaq won them those 3 titles, and was the reason why they were champions. It was obvious that he was the necessary cog

I do agree that they would have been much less likely to win those without shaq than without kobe.
