Is the AAC the third best football conference?

AAC can post a conference best 7-1 bowl record including wins over SEC, ACC and B12 P4 opponents…are they a better conference top to bottom than the ACC and B12?

No they aren’t but they did make it very clear they were by far the best G5 conference.
Their wins against P4 conference teams are their best playing against barely bowl eligible P4 teams. Those games ended in their second best team getting blown out by 7-5 Florida, their third best team beating 6-6 Oklahoma by 1, ECU beating 6-6 NC State by 5, and their 4th best team Memphis beating 6-6 WVU by 5. So basically their best is marginally better than bottom half P4 teams. Their conference is way deeper than G5s typically have been but no they’re not the third best conference overall
