Phils win that Gm1 of the 1983 World Series, behind John Denny, then the O's flat smoked 'em..Baloo was happy!
Juan Samuel was on the late playoff '83 roster, blew up and won 1984 Sporting News NL Rookie honors.
Then, the franchise faded into Jeltz, Morandini, Stocker, Von Hayes, Lance Parrish, etc..oblivion until the Thome signing..then JRoll, Hamels, Howard rebirth.
