This would be the only logical explanation. I would figure, if all of this is being done with an eye towards an end. Byron Scott is essentially a transitional coach.

I hesitate to give Jim Buss this much credit for putting a mask on this tank job. I'd much rather think that he's incompetent enough to think Scott can get the job done.
