Does anyone do this? It seems to add unnecessary complication, but I guess it does make sure that fricktards who will do anything to get a certain player will never win.

We started using it last year. I like it so i can target the players I like and dont have to sit around and feel pressured to reach. I would only recommend it if you dont have idiots in your group tho. Research becomes ridiculously important, cant just pick up a magazine and draft a top 3 team.

I enjoy them. They take a long arse time though. Especially if you have a lot of dumb shits in your league. Dumb shits + beer = pain in the arse.
It's a nice change of pace however. Nice to be able to have the opportunity to draft whoever you want.

I just thought it would stop all the people who draft Marques Colston in the first round because they are a Saints fan.
I can imagine someone entering some retardly high bid a player they love and fricking themselves over.

Oh trust me, they still do. Brees, reggie, shockey, tom brady, and colston all went for about 30% more than what the average draft value was at.

Let me clarify. It actually lets them do even more retarded stuff, but you pay for it.
If you spend $140 bucks on Brees(Going by ESPN's dollar amount). Then you are probably totally fricked.
So they can be totally retarded, but it makes harder for them to be that dumb and still win.

We switched to an auction draft 5 years ago. I was always in the running for the title when we drafted in rounds but since the switch my teams have sucked. Apparently I would make a terrible GM.
