Some of you may remember this thread from a month ago on the same day that UNC got off for cheating.

Well good news, NCAA has acquired some common sense and will allow the freshman guard to play immediately. AKA, they made him serve a two game suspension.

quote:

The NCAA announced Tuesday that it has reconsidered and granted NC State's transfer waiver request for Braxton Beverly, allowing him to compete immediately.

Beverly will play Tuesday night against Bryant, the school said.

The NCAA had twice denied his request for a waiver. Beverly attended summer school at Ohio State this past summer and then transferred to NC State after former Buckeyes coach Thad Matta was fired in early June.

Last week, Beverly retained an attorney, and the school resubmitted the waiver to play this season.

Fairly surprised at this positive outcome, but a no brainer.

The NCAA didn't gain any common sense they just bent to public pressure. There is a big difference.

Wait, isn't there a rule that players can leave if the HC leaves?
