If you have hourly employees that have had time cut in half and now you have the funds to pay them full week’s wages, can/should you require they come back to the office?

Depends on what their specific job is and if they can do without it OR you can do without them for a period of time. Personally, I would pay them to work/stay at home if its not an essential role that can't be done remotely.
I hope there is a finally a HUGE push for working remotely on a large scale.
Traffic in BR metro is bearable right now.

Firgured I'd relay this here as well.
Just got a $2000 deposit in my account from the SBA. It's got to be the "advance" part of the EIDL as we have 2 employees right now.
Still waiting on PPP loan closing date and SBA account #, but my bank did go ahead and open a separate checking account with my PPP loan amount as the opening balance, just sent all that paperwork back to them this morning.

I am hoping someone can help me. I bank with capital one(business and personal), and have not been able to apply for Payroll protection yet, as they continue to say they are not ready to accept applications yet. I have tried other banks and all have said you had to have an account with them, in March, in order to submit your PPP application. So, I can't even change banks to apply. I keep hearing people are getting assistance and funds are going to run out. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I've been asked to hold off on referrals for now. Once it opens bank up I'll be happy to share my contact with you.

Wish I could help you as I'm not sure why Capital One isn't participating.
I'd would call some smaller banks in your area, post haste, to see if they are still taking applications. To be quite honest, I think you are too late, IMO, unless they add to the funds at some point. If they do, you need to get in that line ASAP.

I JUST recieved an email from Hancock/Whitney, who I bank with both personally and for my business. It states that it is a "pre-closing" notification through their express bank loan branch. It seems that I got funded at the last possible moment.
Will get more info from my local bank tomorrow.
I've said it but I'll say it again, the Prairieville branch of Hancock worked their asses off on my small PPP loan, and I'm sure they did for others as well.

Update:
Several automated emails come in overnight, a couple from docusign. My local branch is trying to find out what it is exactly.
ETA: Hancock decided LAST NIGHT was a good night to update their PPP system to incorporate DocuSign and it spit a bunch of meaningless automated emails out.
They are toying with my emotions

Man, what a roller coaster ride this morning has been.
I finally got a message that the docusign link was legit and to go ahead and sign it.
My local branch hasn't even seen the paperwork yet and asked me to download it and send if possible.
If wouldn't let me scroll through the whole document for some reason, but I figured out how to print it to PDF and go through it.
Sure as shite, page 5 was on SBA letterhead with a loan # on it.
I'm going need an extra drink this afternoon.

When did you apply? I also bank with Whitney about the same size company as you. I applied last week and haven’t heard anything.

I waited for them to open the doors on the morning of the 1st.
Mine was app number 640 in hancock's PPP system.

Does the loan number tell you where you were in line to get the money?
Posted on 4/16/20 at 6:06 pm to 24nights
I have no idea how many PPP applications H/W processed. I only know that I was #640, which I'm sure is a low number.

To bad I picked capital one to bank with for my business, looks like I am SOL with PPP. This really is a shame. Have talked to them many times and always told, "we are just working out the kinks," just check online for the latest update. Well, guess what they updated today and said PPP is out of money? Then, they put on there that they have been funding loans through the SBA since April 5th, WTF!! I guess for their big companies, just does not seem right.

We will be moving all our personal and business accounts from them. Sat on our completed apps for 10 days and we missed. Done with them.

My PPP loan just got funded through Hancock Whitney about 10 minutes ago, for anyone interested.
