Priceline customer service

I need to speak to someone about a screwed up hotel reservation. There is several numbers to call but they all bring you to the same automated answering service. It asks you for the phone number you booked the reservation from or the booking number. Have keyed in both several times and it doesn’t recognize either. I would be ok with an online chat session to figure this out. First and last time using them. I just want to cancel the damn thing at this point. I called the hotel and they can’t do anything. Help please

Yea. Well dude. I ended up doing that and they still are assholes. Couldn’t find any info on my reservation. Told me to get in touch with the hotel where the reservation was at and find out who the real 3rd party who booked the reservation was. I did that and guess what. It’s them. The nice lady at the hotel that I will still be staying, not only cancelled my reservation through Priceline, rebook my stay at a reasonable rate, but offered to contact Priceline for in my regards, after we SPOKE on the phone. Double screw Priceline and screw you too. Not a dumbass dude.

Question: what exactly is inferred when someone uses the term "dude" to refer to you in a conversation (other than condescension). What are the origins of "dude". I think we need something more original.

I suppose it means the same thing as "feller" which is what your generation would say in the soup line.
