You're right about that.

Here in central Florida, the majority of people walking away from homes are doing it because they are upside down on their mortgages. Not because they cannot afford to pay them. I think these people deserve to get their asses hammered.

I completely understand if the Obama economy has taken you out. But, if this is simply being done because of greed then this is very different.

I would like to see the credit reporting laws changed to reflect this permanently on these people's credit histories. I also think they should get sued by the lending instututions and the IRS should take a big bite out of them as well.

Long way. I'm in a smaller town beside Orlando. Foreclosures here are out of control and seem to be increasing recently. Yet, there is new construction going on like crazy.

One suggestion I have is paying the mortgage you have instead of getting into the situation where you need a modification. And Remodification seems redundant.

Change you can believe in...starting with paying for a home. Why should anyone have to pay?

Cape Coral is ground zero for everything that went wrong. You should drive out there and look at it.

Why shouldn't you have to pay the $7,000 deficiency judgement?

Don't come in here looking for sympathy and then get all offended when we call you out for being fiscally irresponsible.

In theory, a lot of the reason to do a shortsale in the first place is to have the debt declared "satisfied" or whatever.
