A major detail I left out..
I would be going from the cost of living in Birmingham, AL to Brooklyn, NY.
eta: just typed in my numbers in the cost of living calculator and it looks like my purchasing power will stay the same even with double the salary. Damn..

haha yeah that's a big difference. Still I'd probably do it. Great adventure and chance to see something new.

What would Nick Saban do? There's your answer.

If you make this decision based on the income the job will provide you then you won't be happy with the result.
You've got to take quality of life into consideration, will you enjoy the work? Where will you be in 5 years as compared to your current position? What kind of a toll does 70 hour work weeks with heavy travel take on your personal life and is it worth it for the increase in pay?
There's certainly a dollar amount that makes a career change worth it, but remember there's a lot more factors than just a paycheck.

Like I said, they have put a lot of time into my development and I would basically be taking advantage of a situation they put me in.
Look out for yourself. If it came down to it, they would have no issue with firing you tomorrow is it was in their best interest.

That was a pretty important factor to leave out.
That said, you say you are not qualified. What is the culture at the new company? Will they provide support and training for a period of time? OR will they throw you into the deep end of the pool?
Do you want to live in New York? What are your long term goals? Will you be happy in this new company? Are you happy now?
Get quiet and pray about this. The answer is in front of you, you just have be still enough for God's guidance.
