I have been watching BP, but haven't been able to pull the trigger. I did buy some RIG in a Macando play - they recently started paying a dividend again and currently yielding 4.8%.

I own some but am a little concerned by how obvious it looks.
Low P/E, high div yield -- by both measures even in the oil business.
Seems that the market is betting that the Obama administration doesn't let up on BP at all.
Agree it's on a longer term horizon, but you have to keep an eye on this that it isn't a value trap.

I've actually been doing a lot of research lately on investing in the stock market in general and have thought about making this my first stock purchase. Any other thoughts on it from anyone?
