Not if they do the $15K thing as a non-refundable.
the 15000 one is going to be tricky...
and it's a little difficult to explain.

I wish I could see the exact bill a day or two before Obama signs it so I know whether or not to hurry up and do my taxes or wait.

forget that I think...
the senate and the house are fricked up.
quote:
Both the Senate and the House versions of the new act remove the requirement that buyers repay the credit. The Senate bill applies retroactively to any purchase completed between January 1, 2009 and the end of August. The House version is also retroactive to the start of the year, and expires at the end of June. As long as buyers don't sell for at least 36 months, they keep the money.

that 7500 not having to repay is going to help me out.

But as you can see in that quote, 2008 is not affected

frick I'm confused.
So does this mean I can still claim the $7500 credit after Obama signs this new bill, since above it says end of June/August?

2008 homebuyers that got the 7500 will have to pay it back.
2009 homebuyers will not.
that's what youre reading too huh?

No, if its enacted, the old one is history. The June/August dates refer to the new credit.

But if this new bill supercedes everything else, why have a June/August 'timeline' if ends as soon as he signs something?
That makes no sense.

i'm not a CPA or anything, but the safe bet might be to file taxes now.

take it with a VERY small grain of salt.

the 7500 one goes away and the 15000 one kicks in based upon the taxes you pay or don't pay.
