There seems to be a lot of confusion as to the spread. The spread is not an offense it is an offensive lineman formation. The offensive lineman or spread out usually in 2 foot gaps or more as opposed to being bunched together.

It calls for lineman with mobility moreso than drive blockers. WVU ran the spread option, Texas Tech ran a passing offense from a spread formation. UF actually runs a single wing formation with the lineman spread out.

This year you see Jimbo Fisher run the pistol spread at FSU. The lineman were more packed last year because Trickett did not have any mobile lineman but will start sophomores and freshman this year using the scheme.

Fisher can also run pro-set offenses still using the spread it is all a matter of lineman spacing.

That's not 100% accurate. Close though.

I'm confused....Is this the first time some of you have watched football?

LSU does use the spread as well as many other sets.

I couldn't agree more. WOW....this is almost from the twilight zone. The Tigers run the option and the spread option, the pistol and power formations.

And as far as Hatch...he's got some excellent moves, as displayed in his gametime and the spring game. WOW.....

This must be an old post from the week RP got the boot.
