If Florida can become "elite"

Some of y'all have a very liberal definition of "elite". I would not consider Florida "elite" by any stretch, they have 2 NCs, and only 4 Final Fours... By comparison Kentucky (who is considered elite by virtually everyone) has 7 Championships and 14 Final Fours

No, all you have to do is look at the talent on Kentucky's team and compare it to ours. That's elite. It would be nice to get atleast one player that could play for them though. Kentucky is an elite program, and IMO LSU will never be on that level no matter who coaches them. It's never been, its always been about football.

I should amend that to say they announced them on their radio show. I assumed they put it in their magazine but as I haven't gotten TR in 15 years I can't say that with certainty.

Wish I could remember the names and particulars

I'm sure one is Shavon Coleman. I was wondering who the other was. Orlando Sanchez or Jason Carter?

Do we have a legitimate shot at him Bubba? He looks like he's pretty good, but I wasn't sure how "in" the race LSU is for him

Again for the people who say this, LSU has NEVER been an elite program, they've been a very good program, but never elite. We've never won a national title in the tournament era, we've been to a handful of final fours.

No

One of the top 5 teams in the SEC? Yes. We're not eclipsing UK or UF, but I could easily see us as a perennial top 15 team under Trent. I don't believe we're far away from that either. Like I've posted previously, this is a young and improving team. We have all of the pieces in place for the next two years.

Trent just needs to lock-up Jarrell Martin's of Louisiana and pull in complimentary pieces from Mississippi, which we've done under Trent. I'd really like to see us as more of a factor in Houston, though, and SE Texas in general. There's a lot of talent in that area.

I agree we have never been elite, but should our goal as a program be to become an elite program just like football and basrball. I say if Trent cant do it find someone who can.

Maybe eventually, but baby steps, first lets work on being a consistent program, then a consistent post-season program, then maybe an elite program...

No, We will not become an elite program; however, I think we can most assuredly become a respected program. I would include Florida, TN, possibly Miss St in that crowd.

I can tell you that one of them originally signed with Bama out of high school.

1. no

2. and not under anyone else either.

Louisiana high school does not have the depth of skill/talent.
Of course, if you kept the best home EVERY YEAR you could have an elite program, but that's not likely.

You would have to attract PREMIER OOS players, such as from Texas, because if there were a premier five star player in Louisiana, he would get offers from Kansas and UK (or where ever Calipari is). And if his grades/ACT were high end, he would also get offers from Duke and Stanford and UC-Berkeley (CAL) and U.C. L.A..
